In the Wild

Assignment 3: Play with VR

This week your goal is to play with something in VR and assess the strengths and weaknesses of the experience(s). As designers exploring this new frontier, you should be keen to understand as many facets of the technology and experiences being projected into your HMD and brain. Choose a few VR experiences to investigate. Feel free to browse the Steam store and download new apps or try apps that already exist in the library.

  • What is the purpose of the experience / app?
  • What works and what doesn't?
  • Is it fun or not? Why?
  • Does it look good or not? Why?

Deliverable:

There is no deliverable this week. You are always welcome to document your expriences however and share them with the @imd group on Slack #cmstudio.. We wll discuss next week in class.
